When and where are matches played?

Match day, times and locations depend on the squad you are playing in. This is either Brunel University in Uxbridge or Northwood College for adult squads and Kingsmead Netball Centre in High Wycombe for youth squads. There are no competitive matches for the Feeders and the Minis however coaches do arrange friendlies when appropriate.

Do I have to trial or can I just join a team?

Yes, everyone who plays for a squad at Falcons has to attend a trial. If you are a beginner and under 16 you can join the Feeders without trialling. If under 11, you can join the Minis without trialling but you must register with us prior to your first session. Any player over 16 who missed the trials should attend one of the Flares sessions, 8-9pm at St Helens before being placed into a suitable team.

When are trials?

Trials usually take place at the end of a season (end of June or July) before the school Summer holidays. All dates will be published on our home page in the Calendar of Events section as well as on social media.

What happens if I can't make trials?

If you can't make a trial date you must first inform us by sending an email. You will then be invited to a training session at the beginning of the season after which the coach will let you know if you have been successful or not. All unsuccessful trialists are invited to join the Feeder squad, to develop their skills further. Any further late trialists will be asked to attend a sessions with the Feeders if under 16 and the Flares if over 16.

Do I have to train every week?

It is expected that you attend training every week or at least 80% of sessions. No refunds are given for missed sessions.

I haven't played netball before/since school, does that matter?

Falcons do not have a Back to Netball section, therefore, the club is not for complete beginners with no knowledge of the game. During the summer months however we do play mixed netball so if you wanted to give it a go then, you are welcome to come along. If you have played before, such as at school, please come along to a trial. We have three senior teams so the third team (Flares) might be the one for you!

What age groups do you take?

We take players from school reception age and up. Minis is for 4-9 year-olds after which we have the junior then senior squads for players over 16.

Can parents stay and watch?

No parents are permitted to stay and watch a training session as research shows this does impact on their child's progression, but it is encouraged to have supporters at matches. We love being cheered on!

Do you train all year round?

We train from August to December and have approximately a month off for Christmas then train again until the end of June. July is our off season and we continue to train over half terms and Easter holidays.

How do I buy kit?

Kit is available approximately three times a year. In August, after trials, November and May. Our kit suppliers make our kit to order and the turn around is approximately 4 weeks.

How much does it cost to play?

The cost varies depending on age and if your team are playing matches or not. The club is a not-for-profit organisation and run completely by volunteers. All money, therefore, goes directly on the playing programme. Please contact us to find out more.
